Mom and Dad flew out to Oregon last Friday, for their biannual trip to hang out with me and Henry.
Saturday was spent enjoying brunch at our usual first stop, McKays Cottage, working on some projects around the house and cheering on the Ducks while we chowed down on some Pizza Mondo!
On Sunday, Dad and I woke up at the crack of dawn to hike up Tumalo Mountain before the Redskins game (which started at 10am out here). Dad couldn't believe how quickly we began heading uphill, no gradual climb on this mountain!
The timing was almost perfect. We nearly made it to the top to see the sunrise. We could see the sun coming up through the trees, but we didn't quite make it up to the top in time.
That's alright though, making it to the top is awesome, no matter what time of day.
As you can see from the altimeter app Dad's holding, we made it to the top of Tumalo Mountain at 7,779 feet.
Such a cool accomplishment!
And such a cool view!
A runner was nice enough to snap this picture of us as we finished the hike. We were so happy to be done because we knew we were headed home to one of Mom's delicious breakfasts and the Skins game!
Little did we know, the Skins game was going to be a disaster. At least, Henry and I looked good in our team gear!
Henry absolutely loves when his Memaw and Gdad visit because he gets lots of good food and lots of love! More so than usual, if you can believe that!
But really, how can you not love on the world's most wonderful dog?
Later in the week, we decided to head up the Cascade Lakes Highway and walk around Todd Lake.
After walking around the lake, we headed back to town and hit up the Deschutes Brewery Tour with the Sylvesters. The tour is so informative, sharing everything from the beer making process to the art contest where they choose the label for their seasonal beer. After the tour, we sampled some of the beers in the tasting room.
Throughout the week, we worked on some projects around the house too. I've been on the hunt for a headboard for a while now. I contemplated making something, but there was no need once I found exactly what I was looking for at a little antique store in the town of Sisters. A DOOR!!! It was just the headboard I was looking for.
A new headboard and new pillows gave my bedroom just the lift it so desperately needed.

Pretty awesome upgrade, huh?! Henry seems to like it.
It was so much fun to make and I actually learned how to use a few tools in the process. Imagine that! Baba would've been very proud of our woodworking abilities!
Lastly, Dad and I hiked up Pilot Butte as we do during each visit.
Henry and I had such a great time during your visit, come back to visit us soon, Mom and Dad!
