Super Sunday

We knew SuperBowl Sunday was going to be spent stuffing our mouths with football food so Emmie, Parker, Henry, and I headed over to Smith Rock to work up an appetite. The weather started out foggy and snowy, but we decided to venture out on the hike anyway.

The first two miles were nice and flat so we took our time and enjoyed the sights.

I think Henry got bored with the leisurely pace because all of a sudden he darted off and jumped in the Crooked River.

What a goofball! The water had to be freezing! I have no idea what prompted that but he seemed so determined to take a dip.

On the way up we passed by Monkey Face and saw some climbers working their way to the top. If you look closely, you can see one of them on the left.

Eventually we made it to the top and enjoyed some snacks.

We saw some more climbers on the way down. Must have been a good day for climbing because there were lots of them out.

As we reached the end of the 4 mile hike, our legs were getting pretty fatigued. Poor Parker. He did so awesome throughout the entire hike but I think a full day of snowboarding yesterday, then our 4 mile hike today really took a toll on his little legs.
But he did it! And we made it!
