We were treated to some mild weather on Saturday so we
decided to take advantage and go for an early morning hike.
Dad and I picked up Tyler, Seth, and Tebow and headed over to the Bull Run Mountains Conservancy around 8am.
Although it would warm up considerably, it was a freezing 22 degrees to start!
We decided to take the long trail and head up to the highest point at White Rock overlook. We hit a few steep parts but overall it was a fairly mild hike and of course we stopped along the way to enjoy good ol' Mother Nature.
After 2.1 miles, we made it to the top and the views were incredible!
Seth was more comfortable sitting back from the edge with Tebow. A boy and his dog, nothing better. Except of course, a girl and her dog (what up Henry?!).
The only thing more incredible than the views
is the company I shared them with.
Love. Got teary eyed reading it.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing better than reading your 'Hiking with the Boys' Blog and reminiscing about our hike was the hike itself. Us three boys and Tebow really enjoyed our early Saturday morning hike. Good call Polly! Who would have thought we could find a small slice (very small) of Oregon heaven right here in old Haymarket, Virginia. Your pictures are truly 'Omazing' and they captured the adventure perfectly. Bravo! - Love, Dad the Hiker
