It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our neck of
the woods, especially since we cut down our tree yesterday!
It’s a common tradition in Oregon to cut down your Christmas
tree from the forest so we trekked up to the Benham Falls area yesterday to do
just that.
Of course, we had to take a few pictures first to document the event.
We’re cracking up here because I just got a little lesson on how to properly hold a saw for pictures. It took very explicit instructions, but I finally got it! Ah, the things you learn living in Oregon.
Although the view was beautiful, we didn't have much luck finding trees at our first location.
Henry was feeling rather discouraged having not found a tree
yet so he refused to pose for pictures.
We decided to drive up the road a bit more to see if the tree selection was any better. Fortunately, it was and we found our tree! Here's proof that I actually used a saw and cut it down myself (not bad for this tool challenged individual)!
It's just a little tree, but exactly what I wanted. Nonetheless, I found it hilarious that I could pick it up and hold it with one hand.
Before we could head home, we had some serious business to attend to.
1. Attaching the trees to the car
2. Punching out the dates from our Christmas tree permits
As we all know, no blog post would be complete without some
random pictures of Oregon’s beauty, so here you have it.
