This week has been so jammed packed that I haven't been able to keep up on the blog and I even forgot to mention that Dad got to cross an item off his bucket list when we were in Eugene. He got to see Hayward Field where Pre ran!
After we saw Hayward Field we drove over to the rock memorial for Pre before heading back home.
Such a touching tribute.
Earlier this week we headed over the Petersen's Rock Garden. According to the write-up in the paper, this was supposed to be a spectacular attraction. When we arrived, we were shocked to see that it was actually in a person's backyard.
It was kind of hilarious and we felt a bit odd walking around someone's yard, but that didn't stop us from doing it.
Although it was a bit weird, the rock sculptures we pretty cool.
And the best part was that the Rock Garden doubled as a peacock farm.
Peacocks were everywhere! It was awesome!
And this was the view leaving the rock garden, can't beat that!
Since it only took about 10 minutes to see the entire backyard
rock garden we decided to visit the High Desert Museum afterwards.
We saw all sorts of neat animals. This River Otter was so cute and playful.
Mom actually pet the snake! As you can see, I maintained a safe distance.
We also saw some turtles and a porcupine. I've never seen one of those before!
This poor little lynx had such a hard life. Someone had declawed him and removed all of his teeth then left him out in the wild to fend for himself. Luckily, a hiker found him and reported it so he could be taken care of. Poor little guy.
Lastly, we finished out the day with some chocolate from Goody's. Yum!
Polly - Your last two blogs really captured the essence of our trip, a lifetime of memories in twelve short days. What a wonderful experience seeing you coach lacrosse again, taking in all of the spectacular sights, eating those delicious meals, meeting (or seeing again) all of your great friends in Bend and most of all spending Easter and your Birthday with you and Henry. We enjoyed every minute of it and are already planning our next visit. Go COLAX! Love you - Dad & Mom
