Weekend at University of Oregon

Lacrosse season is in full swing now! Going in to our big weekend at U of O my team was 5-0!
We headed over to Eugene on Friday morning for a full day of tours, meetings, practice, and of course a lacrosse game. We arrived around 1:00 and met up with the U of O athletic trainer for a tour of the athletic facilities.

All I can say is holy crap! Oregon and Nike know how to recruit athletes! These facilities were amazing. On the first part of the tour we saw the girls lacrosse locker room, the training room, and the weight room.

How cool is that weight room? It overlooks the practice football field and there's sun shades on the windows to keep the temperature down.

Next we headed over to the football locker room. Now, this was such a treat. Apparently, nobody gets to go in there but we lucked out big time.

Each player has their own locker that can only be opened by selecting their name from a list, then punching in their code on an ipad at the door to the locker room.  Each locker also has its own ventilation system so that it doesn't stink.

Here's Mariota's locker!

Oh and what do you know, there's a Bendite on the team!!

Oh, and of course Phil Knight needs a locker. I guess that's fair since he did fund the entire facility!

The football building also had a floor dedicated to all those players who made it the pros. Each duck has a name, graduation year, and pro team listed. It was a nice tribute to those who helped build the program.

Oh and I can't forget to mention that the football team has their own barber shop as well, right in their locker room.

Needless to say, it was incredible!

Next, it was time to practice. And what do you know, we got to practice at AUTZEN STADIUM!!!

Awesome doesn't even begin to describe that experience!

After practice, we ran over to the lacrosse stadium to watch the Ducks take on Stanford. It was a close game but unfortunately, Stanford ended up winning.

We quickly checked in to our hotel then headed over to BJ's Alehouse for a team dinner. Obviously, the hit of the night was the pazookie!! YUMMMM!!

On Saturday, we faced two top teams in Oregon and California, respectively.

We didn't pull out the win, but it was still such an amazing weekend.
