Weekends Really Should Be Longer

The weekend was capped off by a relaxing Sunday.

Somebody was awfully excited to get his day started this morning.

 So the Hen-Dog and I headed down to the river for a walk. Henry was his usual self, saying hello to every dog, person, critter, tree, and rock he came in contact with. And I of course, walked around taking pictures of everything in sight. 

I just love watching these ducks. Look at the little show-off on the right doing headstands! 

Henry started to get pretty hot from the walk so he decided to take dip in the river. 

I love this picture so much! Pure joy!

And I just love this little guy so much, couldn't ask for a better sidekick!

Our afternoon was spent hanging out with little Raylee. Henry loves when she visits. 

Then we decided to spend our evening hiking up the butte to catch the sunset over the mountains.  Thank goodness we did because the view was spectacular! 

Jeannelle and I tried our best to get a picture of us with the mountains in the background. We were not successful...

Unfortunately, this was our best one. 

I love you, Elk Lake

This summer has definitely been one for the books! I have loved every minute of it! 

Today brought another adventure and another day of falling deeper in love with Oregon. 

This time we headed to Elk Lake for a free concert. 

The view of mountains on the way up was awesome! 

I couldn't tell you the name of the band we saw perform, but I can tell you that it was so nice to sit and enjoy live music by the water. I clearly paid more attention to the natural beauty than the live entertainment though.

Not a bad view, huh?!

And of course, you can't beat hanging out with this little lady! 

On the way home we stopped to do our best impression of NatGeo photographers...

Can you believe we saw a huge gang of elk?! There had to be a least 30 of them! 

I've never seen anything like it. It was unbelievable!!!

Know what else is unbelievable? How awesome this place is.

Off to catch some zzzzzs with my little buddy.

This weekend could not have been any better! 

It started late Friday afternoon with a float down the river. Too much water though, so I wasn't able to take pictures, but you can trust me, it was absolutely awesome! 

After a few relaxing hours on the river, we stopped by the Balloons Over Bend event and saw some of the hot air balloons prep for their early morning launch on Saturday. 

On Saturday, we loaded up the dogs and headed up to East Lake to go camping. 

Is this place gorgeous, or what?!

Henry thought so too! He loved taking a dip in the lake! 

We lucked out and nabbed a pretty big campsite close to the water. 

Henry took his job as campsite watchdog very seriously.

In fact, all three dogs did. 

As the sun set, we chowed down on a delicious dinner. 

And of course what camping trip would be complete without s'mores?

Henry and I decided to start the next day off with a walk down to the lake in the morning.

When we got back to the campsite we made breakfast, drank hot chocolate, 

and enjoyed the great outdoors before heading back to town. 

On our way back we decided to stop off and see Oregon's largest Ponderosa. 

What an awesome weekend, can't wait for the next one!
